What are Resource Development Hours?

Edited

Resource Development is basically anything and everything that are not Core Competencies.

Here are the definitions:

Core Competencies: Coach training that is coach-specific in nature, directly relates to or expands upon the ICF Core Competencies, and relates directly to the client coaching relationship.

Resource Development: Other training in skills that contribute to a coach’s professional development (e.g., personal development, coaching tools or assessments, specific coaching models, new science, business building, or other material that falls outside the ICF Core Competencies).

For renewing a credential, you may submit writing that is published. For an initial credential, you will need coach-specific training. This page may be helpful regarding Other Training that can count toward your credential renewal: The Gold Standard in Coaching | ICF - Professional Development (
